Spring 2023-24

Fellow Alumni,
As Spring begins, the excitement at Xaverian is palpable, especially for the Class of 2024 whose final countdown (“71 at 7100”) is well underway.  Alumni Director Tom Burns ‘83  is also excited promoting upcoming alumni events, such as the All Hands On Deck Reunion on April 27, an event also special for the Archives, as grads from the 50-year (1974) and 25-year (1999) classes often bring memorabilia for the ever-growing collections.
New Acquisitions
Stephen Rolandi ‘72, who last year donated the complete records of the Political Affairs Forum (PAF) since its inception in 1970, has just given the Archives copies of two rare books on Modern European History predating WWII. Used as the foundation of a class taught by Mr. James Martin (Fac 1965-1993), these tomes accompany Mr. Rolandi’s recent biography of Mr. Martin. (see sidebar)
Rich Conte ‘81 (NYPD Ret.) sent two items he found inside a 1963 Clipper yearbook purchased at a garage sale. Rendered in violet-colored ink by mimeograph (a form of office copier used in the late 60’s/early 70s), entitled “The Wayward Review” they are student produced, reflecting the interests and attitudes of the day.  (see sidebar)
The sister of Charles S. Trovato ‘68 (RIP 12/4/19) kindly forwarded to the Archives

Please remember the XHS Archives when engaged in “spring cleaning.”
